First OIE Workshop for the Balkan countries on the stray dog populationsIZSAM contributed to the event, which was held in Bucharest from the 17th to the 19th of June 2014, by presenting the methodology and contents of a questionnaire implemented in order to analyse the measures and the initiatives taken for the control of the stray dog populations and the application of the OIE standards. Study on the welfare of dogs and cats involved in commercial practicesThe DG Sanco of European Commission has launched a study on the welfare of dogs and cats involved in commercial practices in EU Member States. Different on line questionnaires are addressed to a variety of stakeholders in order to collect the information needed for this study. “Better Training for Safer Food” training course on animal welfare during transportThe second edition of the training course on animal welfare during transport, funded by the European Commission in the framework of the “Better Training for Safer Food” Initiative, will be organized by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) and held between Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and the Province of Trieste (Italy) from the 24th to the 27th of June 2014.
