CINZIA PRENCIPE: a discreet presence and a determined courage

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Vincenza Annunziata Prencipe, who has been known by all her colleagues and friends as Cinzia.She went away quietly almost on tiptoe, as it was her custom to live, after a long and painful illness, which she never wanted to bend to.

She proudly went on working as long as she could, making work a reason of life, a source of strength and energy to fight against an inexorable fate showing no mercy. Cinzia has always seen our Institute as her second family, her home. Since she arrived, as a young researcher at the beginning of her career, she always went out of her way to achieve objectives, she never denied her energy and always made her studies, her passion, her determination available to all of us.

Cinzia has always been a source of certainty, of knowledge, calm judgment and reliable response. With both discretion and determination, she found her space, achieved her goals and she contributed to buildthe respect, trust and credibility necessary to our Institute to compete at national and especially international level. With her loss a light was turned off, the light of knowledge and wisdom that had always guided her choices on her path.

She also was a generous person, who wanted to dedicate her time and effort to everyone, without withdrawing or denying her support.

Thank you Cinzia, thank you for having come a long way with us and for having pursued your dreams in our laboratories. Thank you for making your dignity, especially in the disease, a model of courage and commitment, an example of will and determination that will remain for us a lesson.
