Animal Health Report

Prevention and control of animal diseases stem from a set of activities implemented to protect animals and people. Such activities are carried out on the National territory by competent Authorities, represented by the Ministry of Health, the veterinary services of the Regions and Local Health Units, together with Veterinary Epidemiology Institutes.

The Report on Animal Health analyses the data on the Italian livestock heritage recorded in the NDB of livestock register as well as data on animal disease focuses reported by the veterinary services of the National Health System in the SIMAN, in order to evaluate the performance of infectious diseases of animals involved in screening or eradication plans.
