Since 2009, the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZS-TE) has established a dedicated unit for institutional communication, with the aim of ensuring clear and effective information flow and the strategic sharing of objectives.
The Institute’s communication activities are designed to make research results accessible, inform the public about institutional initiatives, and foster dialogue with the general public, stakeholders, and citizens. This is achieved through an “integrated” approach that uses a range of tools and languages to reach different audiences.
These activities are coordinated by the Communication and External Relations Unit, which is responsible for managing institutional relations, producing content for the official IZS-TE channels, and disseminating information through the media. The Unit also includes the Library, a key resource for accessing and exploring scientific and technical literature.

In 2010, the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale”, in collaboration with the International Cinematographic Photography Award “Gianni di Venanzo” (organised by the cultural association Teramo Nostra), established the IZSAM “G. Caporale” Special Award. This prize was created to honour a film focusing on the human-animal relationship, aiming to raise awareness and understanding of animals through the communicative power of cinema.
