The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale of Abruzzo and Molise got the certification ISO 9001: 2015 for its training services. It is one of the first health organizations, in Italy, to bring the standard up to date with modern needs, two years earlier than its commitment expected in 2018. Till this date, you can even certify by ISO 9001:2008.
Following the audit to renew the Quality System Certification, the IZSAM has been complied with all the requirements of UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015, getting a new certificate for analytical services, planning, providing and evaluating the whole specialized, management information training, on health, which will be both carried out with traditional teaching methods, and on information and communication technologies.
Firstly, the update of the quality system for all the services, which are available at IZSAM, have implied the formalization and systematization of a management, combining its process with the “risk-based thinking” approach. Achieving this quality policy, the risks are also processed in order to identify opportunities, which could stand out from dealing them with much awareness. The FMEA method, “Failure Mode Effect Analysis”, has been adopted, in order to analyse and consider the risks related to all the processes of analysis of requirements, design, validation, planning and provision for training and information events.
Throughout, the audit, the Italian certified Auditing & System Certification TÜV has been recognized: "... the significant commitment from this organization to prove, according its innovation system, its numerous innovations, its processes and resources, which are dedicated to all the services and to delivery processes in Istituto”.
The Training Department has always be considered, by the Istituto itself, a cardinal management tool, which both internal and external level in order to expand the internationalization process, to magnify both the role of the Reference Centres, the National Reference Laboratories and the Reference Cooperation Centres and the International Reference Laboratory (OIE, FAO), which are one of its strengths. This Department, always ensures the highly specialist resources of the Istituto have got the access to all the training programmes and/or opportunities to compete at international contexts, to keep, to maintain and improve the achieved peculiarity levels. With its International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV), the IZSAM delivers training, both by traditional means and eLearning method, achieving some projects, with the aid of new information and communications technologies for the Ministry of Health, Italian Regions the European Commission, the FAO and the OIE.
In 2016 first half year, this Department trained 3,669 people. 2,931 attended some courses by eLearning method, 117 people attended all the training events (whereof, 98 in eLearning method) with a satisfaction index of 97% of all participants. Five national events had been realized, with a satisfaction index of 97%, Ten international ones, with a satisfaction index of 100%. These days, 141 trainees and "visiting scientists" attended the Istituto.
