Animal welfare in poultry production

 

“Animal welfare in poultry production (laying hens and chickens for meat production)” è il nome del corso di formazione che l’Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” organizza a Desenzano del Garda, Brescia, dall’11 al 14 marzo 2014. L’attività è finanziata nell’ambito dell’iniziativa "Better Training for Safer Food" dell'Unione Europea.

 

The title of the training course organized by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” to be held in Desenzano del Garda (province of Brescia) from 11 to 14 March 2014 is “Animal welfare in poultry production (laying hens and chickens for meat production)”. It is funded as part of the European Union initiative "Better Training for Safer Food".

 

The training on animal welfare in breeding laying hens and chickens for meat production shall be attended by 55 official veterinaries from the EU member states, candidate Countries and third Countries.

 

Representatives of the Food and Veterinary Office of the European Commission, of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) as well as delegates of Competent National Authorities of different European Countries and professors from Universities and Research Institutes, shall present important issues on the legislation and international standards on animal welfare and shall facilitate the sharing of experience with reference to the implementation of the European reference regulations.

 

In addition to theory, practice sessions are also scheduled, during which participants shall be involved into debates and knowledge sharing. Team works and plenary sessions shall provide the chance to share and debate the subjects being studied.
