Report on the health status of the Italian livestock population

The COVEPI (Veterinary Operational Centre for Epidemiology, Programming and Information and Risk analysis)of the IZSAM, the II Office and III Office of the Ministry of Health published the report on the “Health status of the livestock population raised in Italy. Results, activity, national surveillance”.

The report recalls the previous edition and analyzes the data concerning the Italian livestock, which has been registered in the National Database (National Livestock Registry), and the data on notified outbreaks, which has been registered by the Veterinary Services of the National Health System in the SIMAN, the National Animal Disease Information System.

The main objective is to evaluate the trend of infectious diseases to which control or eradication plans were applied in 2011 in Italy.
