On March the 28th, 2012 the presentation of the National Veterinary Information System for Food Safety (SINVSA) was held at the Ministry of Health before the Head of the Department of Veterinary Public Health, Food Safety, and Collegial bodies for health protection, and the representatives of Directorates as well as those of Autonomous Regions and Provinces.

The SINVSA was developed by the G. Caporale Institute on behalf of the above-mentioned Department. The System represents the "evolution and reorganisation" project regarding the applications provided by the Ministry of Health and available on the portal www.vetinfo.sanita.it . It also envisages the introduction of a new type of applications for mobile devices.

The SINVSA is the national information system for the collection and presentation of data, useful to the governance of the national animal health and food safety system. It focuses on the definition of sanitary risks throughout the entire productive chain: from the animal feed production to the trade of foods intended for human consumption   ("from farm to fork").
