Meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Institute

 

The first meeting of the Scientific Committee of the IZS of Abruzzo and Molise "G. Caporale" was held in the main office of the Institute in Teramo on 31 January 2014. The meeting was attending by a group of the Committee members selected according to their internationally acknowledged experience in their competence range: Andrea Gavinelli, expert in Animal Welfare - DG Health and Consumers European Commission (in videoconference); Jim MacLachlan, expert in Virology and Pathology - University of Davis, California (in videoconference); Peter Fuerst expert in Food Safety - Chemical and Veterinary Analytical Institute Muensterland-Emscher-Lippe, Germany; Koos Koetzer, expert in Tropical Disease - University of Pretoria, South Africa; Bertrand Lombard, expert in Food Safety - French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety, France.

 

The newly established Scientific Committee is charged of evaluating and living opinions on the Institute research proposals in order to ensure a high profile research which shall be competitive on the national and international level.

 

The attending members of the Institues were Dr. Giacomo Migliorati, Nicola Ferri, Massimo Scacchia, Armando Giovannini, Giovanni Savini, Giampiero Scortichini, Federica Monaco, Alessandro Ripani and Luigi Iannetti. The Health Director of the IZSAM Giacomo Migliorati has welcomed the members of the Committee and gave the floor to Alessandro Ripani who presented the facilities and the world wide research and cooperation activities of the Teramo Research Centre.
