Delegation of the Republic of China at IZSAM

On Monday the 10th of November, representatives of the Republic of China visited the Headquarters and laboratories of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM). The Chinese delegation visited Italy and was hosted by the Ministry of Health from the 3rd to the 11th of November, for the export of the bovine semen from Italy to China.

The Head of the delegation Zizhong Xu participated in the “IV International Conference on Bluetongue and related Orbiviruses” organized by IZSAM in Rome as a speaker and decided to visit IZSAM to know more about it and especially about its activities related to Bluetongue and the Schmallenberg virus.

The Institute’s Scientific Director Giovanni Savini together with the heads of laboratories and departments welcomed the delegation by providing an overview about IZSAM. Starting from history and by way of major activities, Doctor Savini explained to the Chinese delegation the choice of embracing an international policy driven both by the limits of the territory of jurisdiction and by the need of sharing knowledge and actively collaborate with the global scientific community.

The delegation of the Republic of China was composed of Zizhong Xu, Haiyan Mao, Fuquan Sun, Jun Xu and Tao Zhong, who visited some of IZSAM’ laboratories together with the Scientific Director Giovanni Savini.
