Teame Ghebrehiwet meets the Institute staff

On 30 and 31 March 2009, the Director of Veterinary Services in Eritrea, Teame Ghebrehiwet, visited the Istituto G. Caporale for the start of an OIE twinning scheme on Brucellosis.

This first encounter (kick off meeting) served to start the project and clarify the strategies designed to achieve the expected objectives. The stages of the work were then analysed in detail, to improve and harmonise the methods of surveillance of the disease.

This was followed by planning the work on the Italian Ministry of Health's research projects, relating to the risk of introducing exotic diseases through experimental studies in the endemic areas of Africa, and a discussion on support for the Eritrean programme for the control of Tuberculosis and bovine Brucellosis in the milk and dairy products sector.
