Progetto europeo sulla Bluetongue

On June 1, 2017, all the activities concerning the research project named Pale Blue will officially start and it has been funded by the European Union as part of Horizon 2020, which is the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2014-2020).

Pale Blue has got as object of its own research, some evolutionary and management aspects of the Blue Tongue virus, whose the IZSAM has been the WHO Reference Laboratory for Animal Health (OIE) since 2005. The IZSAM, among 18 other prestigious international partners, awarded the project for a total funding of almost 6 million of euors. The Istituto will field the best available expertise in virology, genomics, entomology, epidemiology and dissemination of results.

The three-year Pale Blue project, has got cross characteristics and it is the first project at IZSAM completely funded by Horizon 2020 programmme.
