Infectious diseases are a major concern in the health of companion animals and a continuing priority for veterinary public health services.
The Institute is leading a research project titled “New diagnostic workflows in Animal Health: from Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to an Antigen Bank”, aimed at studying the epidemiology and spread of emerging pathogens. The project also seeks to develop a structured diagnostic service for companion animals, based on clinical packages designed to optimise sample collection and analysis. In addition, it includes the experimental use of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies in clinical diagnostics and the creation of an antigen bank based on pathogens isolated during the course of the project.
As part of the initiative, Clinical Profiles and Diagnostic Packages are available to private veterinary practitioners for diagnostic investigations in small animals.
To access the services, applicants must have their registered office in either the Abruzzo or Molise regions and complete the online form available at: https://attivitadiagnostica.izs.it/stud2izsam/stud/
