On November, 11 Dr. Fabrizio De Massis represented IZSAM, as body designated by the Italian Ministry of Health, in the 9th meeting of the EFSA Scientific Network for Risk Assessment in Animal Health and Welfare.
The project with the partnership of IZSAM kicked off in Valencia. It foresees the development and the testing at European level of an innovative eLearning programme on quality in food microbiology laboratories.
The conference brought together a number of experts from all over the world on issues concerning the veterinary activities in natural disasters within the framework of a "One Health" approach.
From the 23rd to the 27th of March, over four hundred delegates from the Pacific and Far-East area and experts from all over the world met in Kuala Lampur and exchanged opinions on veterinary topics.
During the last week of March, the Scientific Director of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Several researchers of the Diagnostic Veterinary Laboratory of Montenegro attended a training course at IZSAM, which is part of a European project aiming at strengthening the capabilities of the Montenegrin Veterinary Services for the control of the animal diseases having an impact on human health.

On the 26th and 27th of March the first two days of an updating course are hold at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV) of IZSAM. The course is financed by the Abruzzo Region and is organized by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) in collaboration with the University of Teramo.
The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise"G. Caporale" (IZSAM) is one of the 5 Experimental Zooprofilactic Institutes, who are collaborating to maintain and develop a veterinary biobank, which was recently recognised OIE Collaborating Centre and where samples of the main animal pathologies are stored.
From the 9th to the 13th of March a delegation composed by the General Director and the Directors of the laboratories of the Institut National de la Médecine Vétérinaire of Algeria came to IZSAM for a workshop on biological risks within the framework of a twinning project.
Concluded the three year DG SANTE funded project executed by a European consortium led by CRPA Spa. IZSAM is partner of this project.

Within the framework of the IPA Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013, the Abruzzo Region entrusted IZSAM the implementation of the information layers about fishery and the use of the sea.
