On the 20th of November a meeting will be held at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV). The event is organized by IZSAM, who is National Reference Centre Exotic Animal Diseases.
Abdelhak Ben Younes, the Director of the Istitut de la Recherche Vétérinaire of Tunisia, attended IZSAM’ laboratories from the 10th to the 14th of November 2014 within a Twinning project of the World Organization for Animal Health.
On Monday the 10th of November, representatives of the Republic of China came to Teramo to know more about IZSAM’ activities, in particular those related to Bluetongue and the Schmallenberg virus.
The Conference starting at the Auditorium Antonianum on the 5th of November 2014 in Rome, has the objective to update the European and international politics for the surveillance and control of the bluetongue virus and related orbivirus and to identify the most recent and most effective strategies to fight this disease.
IZSAM was awarded at the symposium “Small Solutions for Big Water-Related Problems” of Rome for the research which focused on the assessment of the welfare conditions of natural fish populations, whichare a bio-indicator of the welfare conditions of aquatic ecosystems.
From the 22nd to the 24th of October 2014, Doctor Stefano Messori of IZSAM participated in a scientific Congress on animal welfare organized by the Veterinary Association of Namibia in Swakopmund.
The CAPS2 training activities focus on the analysis and management of new chemical and microbiological contamination risks of fish products and aims at allowing the partner countries to adapt their equipment and acquire new specific laboratory competences.
At the National Animal Health Diagnostic and Investigation Center of Sebeta Patrizia Colangeli and Simona Iannetti of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) hold a training course within the framework of a four-year project implemented by the African Union Interafrican Bureau for Animal Resources.
On Thursday the 23rd of October the special edition of IZSAM newsletter will be presented within the Di Venanzo Prize award. It will contain the drawings, poems and tales created by the children/pupils coming from the Primary School San Berardo of Teramo.
From the 21st to the 24th of October IZSAM is organizing in Edinburgh, Scotland, a training course on Animal Welfare in poultry production, which is financed by CHAFEA of the European Commission within the framework of the Better Training for Safer Food initiative of the Directorate General SANCO.
Between the 6 and 9 October 2014 the IZSAM participated at the 16th International Companion Animal Welfare Conference in Istanbul, presenting a workshop entirely dedicated to the Shelter Quality protocol developed by the Human-Animal Relationship and Animal Welfare Laboratory within a research project financed by the Italian Ministry of Health.
From the 15th to the 18th of October 2014, the Istitituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) is organizing a training course from the 14th to the 17th of October 2014 in Hering, Denmark on “Animal welfare in pig production” within the Better Training for Safer Food Initiative of the European Commission.
The training events had the objective to provide Doctor Vhoko Kudzaishe with the necessary knowledge in order to be able to administrate in Zimbabwe the computer system for the management of laboratory activities(SILAB) for Africa.
