HERMES Project Final Event

The event "A pilot approach towards quality in LAS Education & Training: the HERMES project outcomes" will take place on Wednesday 16 December, from 10:00 to 12:30, on the CISCO Webex platform. This is the final conference of the HERMES project aiming at  the dissemination of the results achieved and the Intellectual Outputs developed over three years of activity.

"Harmonization & Recognition of LAS education and training in MEmber States (HERMES)" is a project funded by the European Erasmus + program in the context of Key Action 2, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, call 2017 for the creation of strategic partnerships for vocational education and training in Europe. IZSAM is the lead partner of the project which can rely on a broad partnership composed of Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italy), Universidad de Murcia (Spain), Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Sweden), the Greek Ministry Hellenic Agricultural Organization – ELGO-VRI (Greece), VETerinary Continuous Education in Europe (VETCEE)  based in Brussels and promoted by the main European veterinary federations, and by UDANET:  a spin-off company of the D'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara.

HERMES project has been the first tentative cooperation at the EU level among stakeholders involved in the education and training system in Laboratory Animal Science (LAS), in order to represent the different perspectives and converge towards common solutions so far missing for the lack of harmonization in the approach of the Member States to the implementation of Directive 2010/63 / EU. The project has developed 5 peculiar Intellectual Outputs, having a multiple impact level: a) the promotion of the mobility of competent personnel within the EU Member States - one of Erasmus+ priorities; b) a higher, and most widespread, training quality in the framework of LAS; c) development and testing of new methodologies and tools aiming at the harmonisation and mutual recognition of Education & Training (E&T) programmes in the EU.

The final event is targeted to the main policy and decision makers, stakeholders, direct and indirect potential beneficiaries, researchers and LAS E&T Providers. 4,5 ECM credits will be issued for Italian participants.
