Zimbabwean Delegates at the Institute

 

Within the framework of the “Twinning OIE for Animal Brucellosis”, Delegates Joan Varaidzo Burumu, Pious Vengesai Makaya, Mandishukusha Gloria Patsanza and Bamusi Saidi of the Zimbabwean Central Veterinary Laboratory on Brucellosis, will be in Teramo on the 27th and the 28th January 2014, for the Kick Off Meeting with the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale”(IZSAM). Since 1993, the IZSAM is an OIE Reference Laboratory for Brucellosis and since 1999 a National Reference Centre for Brucellosis.

 

The main goal of the OIE Twinning project is to improve the technical knowledge and skills of the Zimbabwean Central Veterinary Laboratory (CVL) staff, to enable CVL to become a Reference Laboratory for Brucellosis. The CVL will provide scientific support to satisfy local demand and will offer assistance to other Countries in the region (Southern and Central Africa).

 

The kick off meeting, which will be held at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information “F. Gramenzi” (CIFIV) in Teramo (Italy), will offer the opportunity to focus on the main project areas and analyze the best strategies to be followed in order to achieve the objectives of the project.
