A delegation of veterinary surgeons and executives from the Namibian Central Veterinary Laboratory, with which the G. Caporale Institute has collaborated closely for over 10 years, visited the Institute from 1 March 2011 in the ambit of the food safety twinning project.

The project, which will run for 15 months, is designed to provide the Laboratory, based in the Namibian capital, with scientific and training support based on training by experts from the G. Caporale Institute (acting in the capacity of OIE Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Training, Epidemiology, Food Safety and Animal Welfare) with a view to enabling the NCVL to obtain accreditation by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) as a food safety reference laboratory.

The Namibian delegation was welcomed by the Institute's director, Prof. Vincenzo Caporale, and some members of the executive staff, at the F. Gramenzi Veterinary Information and Training Centre (CIFIV) in Colleatterrato Alto, where some aspects of the Institute's organisation and food safety research were presented.

In the following days the members of the delegation attended meetings and visited laboratories at the Institute's headquarters to obtain in-depth information about aspects of particular interest.
