Training

The Training Department has existed in the Institute since 1990, and since then has been a strategic management tool which, at both internal and external level, has pursued two parallel lines: technical/specialist training and managerial training.

The process of expanding the entire structure has taken place through the Department's capacity to produce knowledge and then convey it to the whole world, and reached a point where today the Institute is internationally recognised as a technical and scientific service provider in veterinary public health.

During all these years the training services have undergone significant modification, anticipating the changes within the scientific community at which they are aimed. The Department's own teaching methods have been updated: currently, training is delivered both by traditional means and with the aid of new information and communications technologies.

Since 2004 the Training Department has been recognized by TÜV Italy as complying with the requirements of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard for "Analysis, planning, delivery and assessment of information and training activities, specialist and managerial, in the health sphere", which are at the disposal of central and outlying veterinary services and laboratory and research centres, as well as public bodies, organizations, associations and companies which request these services in Italy, Europe and the world.

The Institute is frequently host to researchers from all over the world, and at the same time reaches countries which want to make use of its skills to grow in terms of technical/scientific and managerial expertise and quality of services. An internal team of qualified and certified trainers is engaged every day in satisfying the learning needs of countries within the European Union, countries which are working towards joining the EU and those which want to start commercial relations with it.

The Institute is also recognised as a training provider for Continuing Education in Medicine (CEM).
