The Project Centre coordinates project development activities at regional, national and international levels, ensuring the Institute’s participation in research programmes, technical assistance, capacity building and international cooperation. It supports technical and scientific units in preparing competitive proposals and fosters strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening and expanding the Institute’s role in key areas of engagement.

The Project Centre is the focal point for all project development activities within the Institute.
It oversees the entire project lifecycle: from call analysis to proposal design, from technical and administrative management to the evaluation of results. It works in close collaboration with the technical and scientific departments to ensure strategic coherence, operational effectiveness and the quality of outputs.
The Centre’s mission is to enhance the Institute’s project development capacity, both as a driver of scientific research and innovation, and as a key instrument for cooperation and development. It promotes the creation of strong partnerships, engages with major funding bodies, and encourages an integrated approach to project design, one that builds on existing expertise while attracting new professional profiles.
Project quality is pursued in line with the Institute’s multi-year strategic plans and in response to the needs of its various stakeholders, drawing on recognised project management methodologies.
Special attention is given to strengthening public and private networks and building lasting alliances with leading organisations in Italy and abroad. Within this framework, the Centre also works to make the Institute increasingly attractive to young researchers and highly skilled professionals, fostering a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment open to international collaboration.
The Centre contributes to the planning and implementation of the activities of the Institute’s reference laboratories and centres of excellence and collaboration.
It is also actively involved in international cooperation programmes, helping to advance sustainable development goals and supporting the Institute’s role in shaping global health and science policies.
Project development is therefore a key tool for attracting resources and contributing, through practical proposals, to decision-making processes and multilateral settings where One Health policies are defined.
The Centre’s activities, compliant with ISO 9001 standards, are embedded within an organisational system that values efficiency, transparency and cross-functional collaboration. As such, project development represents a strategic and cross-cutting driver of the Institute’s institutional growth, in line with the One Health approach.
