International cooperation

International cooperation is one of the main activities of IZSAM that has been closely cooperating with International Institutions and Organizations such as EU, OIE, WHO and FAO for years.

The Centre has made his skills and technical and scientific knowledge available to European and non-European Countries through countless cooperation projects. The European Union, USA Government, several Countries in Latin America and Africa have proved to trust the Institute; think of the management and technical counselling programmes in Brazil and the start up of diagnostic laboratories in Namibia. Quality and competence have been acknowledged both through the contracts awarded by Beneficiaries and through international contracts awarded within EU programmes. The European Union has recognized the Institute as one of the tools to provide technical assistance to EU candidate and potential candidate Countries and for Twinnings.

Future shall depend on innovation and development strategies aimed above all at strengthening the priority target: the protection of human health. Owing knowledge and expertise to interact with the integrated system “animal health and wellness – food safety – environment protection” is the basic requirement to achieve the target.
