Training on Animal Welfare in laying hen production

 
 
 

Since 25 till 28 October 2016, the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale of Abruzzo and Molise “G. Caporale”, in co-operation with the Scotland's Rural College (SRUC), will organize the “Animal Welfare in laying hen production course, in Crieff”

 

 

The training event, planned with reference to the Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) SANTE General Directorate of the European Commission, has been financed by the Consumers, Health and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA), by a service agreement, just signed with the IZSAM.

 

This course on Animal Welfare in laying hen production, has been addressed to all the authorized veterinarians in the EU Member States, candidate Countries and EU third Countries. 54 delegates will partecipate, from Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Morocco, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary.

 

The World Animal Health (OIE), the Competent National Authority in Denmark, Scotland (UK) and Slovenia delegates, will participate in the several sessions and in the plenary discussions, provided for the agenda of this course. The tutors’ group, who are members of some Universities and Research Institutes as well, will give front lessons and they will also encourage both field exercises and group discussions, included in the tutorial programme.

 

The course aim will support the development of all the necessary skills to well understand the European legislative framework, to adopt the basic scientific knowledge in order to manage the laying hen breeding and to monitor and to inspect its animal welfare.
