IV International Conference on Bluetongue and related Orbiviruses

Extended to July 27, the abstract submission deadline for authors interested in presenting oral communications or posters at the IV International Conference on Bluetongue and related Orbiviruses, that will take place in Rome on 5-7 November 2014.

Ten years after the Third International Conference on Bluetongue, attended in 2003 by over 300 experts and researchers from all around the world, this and the other Orbivirus-related diseases, still remain a priority and, in some cases, an emergency for official veterinary services and livestock industry.

The International Conference, official event of the Italian Semester of Presidency of the European Union, is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Health, under the auspices of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the European Commission. Italy represented and still represents an effective and efficient system in defining strategies for the disease control.

The Conference will be organised by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) as OIE Reference Laboratory for Bluetongue. More detailed information are available on the dedicated website ( www.btconference2014.izs.it )
