From Algeria for a workshop at IZSAM

On Tuesday the 16th of December 2014, IZSAM hosted 5 Algerians for a workshop planned by the twinning project DZ/13/ENP/HE/16 :“Rafforzare la capacità di controllo dei servizi veterinari per avvicinarli agli standard europei e internazionali" ("Strengthening the veterinary services’ capacity of control in order to bring them closer to the European and international standards").

CAPS2 project: in October several technicians from Albania attended IZSAM

At IZSAM laboratories the training activity planned by the CAPS2 Project continues. The technicians coming from Tirana will be committed in acquiring the operating protocol ISO 21 872 2007 for the detection of Vibrio spp. in shellfish.

CAPS2: at IZSAM for the detection of biotoxins in fish products

The training activity at IZSAM planned for 2014 is part of the CAPS2 project and was concluded with the visit of the Croatian and Montenegrin technicians at IZSAM laboratories.

From Mauritania to IZSAM for CBPP

The period of training carried out by Doctor Isselmou and which is part of a technical collaboration program with IAEA, concerned the direct and indirect diagnosis of CBPP.

IZSAM in Zambia

Doctor Massimo Scacchia participated in the “2nd SADC Sub-Regional CBPP Network Meeting” of Livingstone in Zambia, where he covered the role of moderator of the session concerning the control of the Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia.

The legal and financial aspects of Horizon 2020

On the 16th of December a seminar illustrating the structure of the Horizon 2020 work program will be held at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV). During the event the participation mechanisms and the financing rules will be described.

Seminar on the Marsican Brown Bear

On the 20th of December at the Torre di Cerrano of Pineto, a seminar will be held by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) and the environmental association “Save the bear”.

IZSAM and UNITE, together for the future of science in Abruzzo

On the 15th of December at 11.00 a.m., the new organism named Petrut was presented during a meeting held at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV) with the governor of the Abruzzo Region, Luciano D’Alfonso. Petrut operates as a technical and scientific point of reference with the aim at contributing to plan the future of science in the Abruzzo Region.

CAPS2 Project: in October two technicians from Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina attended IZSAM

In October several technicians attended the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale “ (IZSAM) within the project “Strengthening of Aquaculture Centres for production and Safety Surveillance in Adriatic Cross-border Countries - CAPS2". Some of them attended a training period on biotoxin detection in fish products.

IZSAM in Angola for the optimization of the meat production chain

Doctor Massimo Scacchia of IZSAM went to Angola, where a public health project has started last summer in the province of Huìla and has now been extended to the province of Namibia.

Meeting on Listeria monocytogenes and Campylobacter

On the 25th and 26th of November 2014, the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” will organize a meeting at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV) on the activities carried out by the National Reference Laboratories for Listeria monocytogenes and Campylobacter.
