The Director General on institutional visit to the IAM in Bari

The Director General of IZSAM, Nicola D’Alterio, went to Bari on Thursday 29 July 2021, on an institutional visit to the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (IAM) in Bari. The Director was welcomed by Dr. Biagio Di Terlizzi deputy director of the IAM. The occasion was useful to meet the Albanian ministerial delegation, led by the Minister of Agriculture, Milva Ekonomi. During the meeting, the future scientific cooperation activities between Italy and Albania in the context of technical assistance to the Albanian National Agency (National Food Authority - AKU), with respect to the aquaculture sector, were discussed. The activities of the IZSAM Teramo will focus on production of mussels, both for local consumption and for export, in accordance with national and European standards and quality control procedures. In this way, the IZSAM will facilitate Albania's accession process to the EU in the aquaculture sector.
