The Ministry of Health has released the full text of the new National Salmonellosis Control Plan in poultry, valid for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024, which replaces the previous ones.

The plan aims to ensure that adequate and effective measures are taken into account to identify and control salmonella infection potentially responsible for zoonoses at primary production level, in order to reduce the prevalence and the risk to public health.

The PNCS is mandatory, throughout the national territory, for groups of commercial poultry farms of the following species and type of production:

  • Breeders Gallus gallus;
  • Hens Gallus gallus;
  • Broilers Gallus gallus;
  • Breeding turkeys Meleagris gallopavo;
