CERVENE has signed an agreement with the CNR on bees and biodiversity

CERVENE has signed an agreement with the CNR - INSTITUTE FOR THE SUSTAINABLE PROTECTION OF PLANTS (CNR-IPSP), based in Turin. The respective managers, Raffaele Bove and Mauro Centritto, signed the protocol.

The IPSP-CNR has among its institutional missions the qualitative and quantitative improvement of agri-food production, sustainable and respectful of the environment, the mitigation of the impacts of global climate change, the optimization of the use of natural resources and the enhancement of functions of agricultural, forestry and natural systems through the study of beneficial insects (natural limiters and pollinators) from an agroecological point of view.

CERVENE and CNR-IPSP have expressed their interest in implementing a project of scientific training, research and dissemination in the context of international, national and local realities, on the subject of "management of the pollination service in natural and agricultural environments in order to to counteract the loss of biodiversity of honey bees and wild bees ".

In practice, the agreement aims to jointly launch research activities in the "pollinators and ecosystem services" sector to carry out study and dissemination activities such as:

  • Environmental monitoring study with honey bees and wild pollinators in the Campania region;

  • Study of the breeding of bees in environments of the Mediterranean basin and Africa;

  • Sampling and taxonomic determination of entomofauna with morpho-molecular techniques;

  • Drafting of informative articles/monographs on previous activities;

  • Organization of conferences, workshops and seminars on beekeeping topics;

  • Search for funds for coordinated projects on Apoid issues, ecosystem services and biodiversity.

The data obtained will be published in international journals, preferably with IF, to facilitate the circulation and visibility of the research products.
