IZSAM in Malaysia at the “6th Pan Commonwealth Veterinary Conference of the CVA”

 

From the 23rd to the 27th of March “the 6th Pan Commonwealth Veterinary Conference of the CVA & 27th Congress of the Veterinary Association of Malaysia” were held at Kuala Lampur in Malaysia. Over four hundred delegates from the Pacific and Far-East area had the opportunity to meet and discuss with experts from all over the world.

 

The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) was represented by Doctor Paolo Dalla Villa, who hold a speech about "Experience from the first EU study on the welfare of dogs and cats involved in commercial practices", developed in collaboration with VetEffecT, Wageningen University and Research Center, IZSAM and approved by DG SANTE.

 

The presentation of Andrea Gavinelli (DG SANTE) on the issues “One World one Health- Role of the EU Commission” and "The EU approach to veterinary education to ensure the implementation of international AW standards, and the report “An integrated approach to knowledge management on AW: engaging vets and other stakeholders” of Doctor Barbara Alessandrini (IZSAM), were met with a great success.

 

It is also worthy to mention the lectures of Dil Peeling for CIWF, “Towards the End of Factory Farming by 2050”; of the Malaysian Quaza Nizzamuddin “The perspective of AW in Islam” and of the Australian John Gaughan “Livestock adaptation to climate change”, which aroused the broad consensus.
