Workshop on Bluetongue

 

The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise "G. Caporale" (IZSAM), who is National Reference Centre Exotic Animal Diseases (CESME), is organizing a “Workshop on Bluetongue”. The meeting, which will be held on the 20th November 2014 at the CIFIV’ Conference Room, will provide the veterinarians, biologists and biomedical health laboratory technicians with 5 ECM credits.

 

The objective of the workshop is to provide a technical and scientific update on the epidemiological situation of Bluetongue in Italy, to present the specific activities of CESME and the laboratory results. The event will represent an occasion to exchange opinions between participants on the diagnostic activities of laboratories and to share information concerning the research activities. Lectures and discussions will be alternated with the aim at providing a technical and scientific update within the diagnostic and research activities on the disease. During the event, which will be addressed to the laboratory staff of the Experimenta Zooprofilactic Institutes, who carries out diagnostic investigations on the disease, the main methodologies will be used to train adults.

 

The researchers participating in the workshop on Bluetongue are Giovanni Savini (IZSAM’ Scientific Director), Giovanni Filippini (Responsible for General Diagnostics and Animal Welfare, Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Umbria e delle Marche), Maria Goffredo (Diagnostic Microbiology, Anatomo-Histopathology, Parasitology and Mycology, IZSAM) Ottavio Portanti (Virology, IZSAM), Manuela Tittarelli (Serology, IZSAM).
