The Institute at the "Workshop of the European reference laboratories on Dourine"

Ilaria Pascucci and Cesare Cammà of the Institute attended to the "Workshop of the European reference laboratories on Dourine" organized by "EU Reference Laboratory for Equine Diseases - French agency for food, environmental and occupational health safety" and held in Caen -France the 20 and 21 November 2012.

In addition to the representatives of the EU laboratories, experts of Institute of Tropical Medicine of Antwerp, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow and University Simon Bolivar of Caracas, participated to the Workshop.

The Institute's researchers gave a seminary on the recent Italian dourine outbreak. During the workshop dr. Pascucci and dr. Cammà had the opportunity to present their experience and knowledge on dourine diagnosis and on molecular typing of the T. equiperdum to the other European researchers. This discussion has provided research perspectives to be shared at European level.
