The Gianni Di Venanzo International Prize for Cinematography and the G. Caporale Institute of Teramo, in collaboration with the Vier Pfoten International foundation, announce a competition in which audiovisual entries will be selected for the award of the G. Caporale Institute - Vier Pfoten International Special Prize.
To take part in the G. Caporale Institute - Vier Pfoten International Special Prize, no special preparation is necessary; all that is required is to have a particular sensitivity and a careful eye for colour or black and white, for lighting and for everything that gives an artistic quality to the scene that is being shot. For the 2011 edition, "The relationship between man and animal" has been chosen as the broad theme for competition between film-makers, directors and documentarists, who may submit works specially made for the purpose or projects already completed and considered suitable for this competition. Last year the prize was given to The biodiversity of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, made by director Alessandro Di Federico with camerawork by Fernando Di Fabrizio. In the year dedicated to biodiversity, the choice of the organisers and partners fell on a work which focused closely on the relationship between nature and animals.
This competition, which is run by the Teramo Nostra association, in collaboration with the G. Caporale Institute and Vier Pfoten International, is another tribute which the city of Teramo pays to Gianni Di Venanzo, illustrious director of photography and master of light.
