From 1 to 4 March 2011, three experts from the G. Caporale Institute lectured at the advanced training course in "The use of specific software for Geographic Information Systems (GIS)", held at the headquarters of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in Paris.

The Giuseppe Caporale Institute was involved in the capacity of OIE Collaborating Centre for Veterinary Training, Epidemiology, Food Safety and Animal Welfare, and because it is a centre of international importance regarding the subject of the course.

The training event, conducted by Annamaria Conte, Carla Ippoliti and Lara Savini from the Statistics and GIS Area of the G. Caporale Institute's Veterinary Epidemiology, Planning and Information Centre (COVEPI), was attended by 9 OIE agents belonging to 3 different departments (the Animal Health Information Department, the Scientific and Technical Department and the International Trade Department). The course provided an excellent opportunity for participants to compare notes on the subjects covered.
