The OIE Laboratory Twinning Project between Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise  "G. Caporale", OIE Reference Laboratory for Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia and OIE Collaborating Centre in Veterinary Training, Epidemiology, Food Safety and Animal Welfare (IZS A&M), Italy, and the National Centre for Animal and Plant Health (Censa), Cuba, is proceeding according to plan.

From 10 to 18 May 2010 two experts from the Institute, Paolo Calistri and Carla Ippoliti, were among the speakers at a training course entitled "Use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and risk analysis in animal health" , held as part of the OIE Laboratory Twinning Project.

The course was attended by veterinary surgeons from CENSA and other Cuban veterinary institutes, and provided an excellent opportunity for exchanging information about the subjects covered by the course (Risk Analysis and GIS). The joint research activities included in the project were also discussed and developed.
