From 24 March to 5 May 2009, 5 veterinary doctors from the National Center for Animal and Plant Health (CENSA) in Cuba were guests of the Institute: Roberto de la Caridad Bolaños Escofet, Patricia Dominguez Pérez, Edyniesky Ferrer Miranda, Osvaldo Fonseca Rodríguez and Yoesley Lozada Villafranca.
The experts from CENSA are following theoretical/practical training courses to support their work in Veterinary Epidemiology, Risk Analysis, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Serological Diagnosis of Mycoplasma in Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP), Identification of Mycoplasma Spp. isolated from animals, using the Polymerase Chain Reaction method (PCR), etc.
The training days, which formed part of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Twinning scheme, followed on from a first coordination phase, which took place in September 2008, again at the Institute at Teramo.
