On Tuesday 24 February 2009 the Istituto G. Caporale played host to Dr. Will Hueston, Director of the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety of the University of Minnesota, and also of the OIE Collaborating Center for Veterinary Services Training.

The occasion of the visit was the signing of a "memorandum of agreement" for developing common activities. During the meeting the two Centres were presented and Dr. Hueston explained in detail the programme  "Global Initiative for Food Systems Leadership", in which the Institute would like to become a partner.

After the signing of the agreement there was a discussion of the possible spheres of collaboration to put into the first plan of action. Subsequently, Dr. Hueston visited the Institute's laboratories.
