From Bulgaria at IZSAM for the Bluetongue

In November 2014 Doctor Simona Tchakarova, researcher of the National Diagnostic Research Veterinary Institute of Bulgaria, did a full immersion on Bluetongue.

She had already taken part in the “IV International Conference on Bluetongue and related Orbiviruses “ held at the Auditorium Antonianum in Rome, from the 5th to the 7th of November and participated in the workshop on Bluetongue, held on the 20th of November at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV).

From the 10th to the 21st of November , she attended the laboratories of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise "G. Caporale" (IZSAM) for a period of training on the entomological surveillance of Bluetongue. Also, Simona Tchakarova attended the National Reference Centre on Exotic Animal Diseases (CESME) of IZSAM under the supervision of Doctor Maria Goffredo and her collaborators, for the vector identification and the analysis of the insects captured in the recent Bluetongue outbreaks in Bulgaria.
