In Sarajevo the first Steering Committe of the CAPS2 Project

 

The first Steering Committee of the project "Strengthening of Aquaculture Centres for production and Safety Surveillance in Adriatic Cross-border Countries - CAPS2" takes place on 12-13 June, 2013 in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina. The project is co-financed by the European Union, Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), through the IPA Adriatic Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013. 


CAPS2 aims to promote exchange of know-how and technological innovations of laboratory and diagnostic services of partner countries - Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Italia, Montenegro and Albania - to improve monitoring of health and safety of fish and shellfish in the Adriatic Area. 


The first CAPS2 Steering Committee is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina; the participation of two representatives of each project partner is foreseen: involved institutions are the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise "G. Caporale" of Italy, the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute of Albania; the Department of Food Hygiene and Technology, Veterinary Faculty of Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina; the Regional Veterinary Institute of Split, Croatian Veterinary Institute Croatia; the Ministry of Agriculture, Directorate of Fisheries of Croatia, and the   Veterinary Administration of Montenegro.

The Steering Committee is a decision-making board and the aim of the meeting is to discuss and analyse issues concerning the project execution takes relevant decisions as concerns the technical/scientific and financial/administrative management of the project. CAPS2 Steering Committee meets twice a year to monitor the project progresses and approve relevant documents, to plan future project activities and set priorities.
